Pathway to Renewal: Sonnet

Warfare and famine, plagues tainting the land
Broken and bleak; the world cold with despair
The sky craved rebirth, but only grew greyer
Life had no meaning when nothing could stand
Feudalism’s strength, crushed by ruling hands
Chained down by kings who owned all but a care
Innocents seized without reason that’s fair
Questioning God’s design, a plan naught grand
Behold, rebirth. Dawn gleamed on morning dew
All rejoiced and embraced the path of light
Celebrating art, both ancient and new
Evolution’s success, bound to take flight
Yearning no more, the canvas grey to blue
Our redemption after terrible plight
